Now in our third year, the Women Business Owners Idea Cafe meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 5:30 - 7:30 PM in Collegeville. Below is our calendar with details on our upcoming meetings. Check back frequently for updates!

    Topic: Our first meeting after our summer break will kick off with group breakout sessions. We'll work together to come up with our own stimulus packages to help invigorate our businesses in slow economic times. Come prepared to share your ideas and get ready to learn from other small business owners!

    Topic: Blogging! Come join us to learn about the basics of blogging: how to create a blog, write content, and help your business benefit from blogging.

    Topic: Guest speaker Nancy Baker will speak to us on ways to better read our customers and better understand what holds us back from experiencing even more success in our lives and business. We'll get clear cut techniques that work in all situations. We'll also explore simple, yet transformative ideas that can change the way we do business forever.

    Topic: It's our holiday party! Come join us in a relaxed environment to meet new people, enjoy delicious food, and share the holiday cheer. We're going to have a Re-Gift-a-Palooza, so please bring a funny or unwanted gift to re-gift to someone else! Also, please feel free to bring your favorite Christmas snack to share with others.

    Topic: At this month's we'll be getting technical! We'll be discussing common technical computer questions encountered every day in our businesses, such as:
    • "How do I create a PDF?"
    • "What is a zip file and how do I create one?"
    • "How do I use online tools, like Google Docs?"
    Bring your own technical questions that have you stumped and we'll give you answers! Learn from others as we answer their questions, as well.

    Topic: Our February meeting will focus on turning networking contacts into paying customers. We'll talk about ways to manage contacts, how to follow up with them and strategies for keeping in touch on an on-going basis.

    Topic: At our March meeting, we'll be talking about social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. We'll start with the basics and discuss the best ways to incorporate these sites into your business and how to use them to boost your client base.

    Topic: At this month's meeting of the Women Business Owners Idea Cafe, we'll be planning for the 2010-2011 WBOIC season. We'd love to have your input on the meeting format, what types of discussions you'd like to have moving forward, and any speakers you'd be interested in hearing from. Our discussion will take place in a round-robin format, so bring some fun, fresh ideas to keep our group as exciting as ever!

Jim brings over 20 years of sales and management experience in a variety of industries. Having spent numerous years developing a family business and, subsequently, as an independent small business owner, Jim has developed expertise in business development and sales management. Bring all of the questions you've ever had about sales, but were afraid to ask!

    Topic: It's time to party! We'll be celebrating the end of the WBO Idea Cafe's third year with a fun social gathering at Jenny Hill-Ludwig's home. This is the last meeting of the year and there are no WBO meetings in July or August. We'll pick back up in September at our usual location at Jean Curtis' home in Collegeville. NOTE: This meeting is being held at Jenny's home. Please use the address/directions provided in your Evite.
